Las Casas Founders Gala

In the 1980s, Las Casas Foundation led the coordinated effort to save two spectacular downtown performance spaces, the Majestic Theatre and the Charline McCombs Empire Theatre. The restored theaters now anchor San Antonio's downtown cultural district. The "Moorish fantasy" interior of the Majestic features a unique decorative flourish, an albino peacock mount. For the invitation cover to the Founders Gala, we gave the White Peacock a fancy-dress treatment as an informal mascot for this festive occasion. Art Deco typography suits the mood, and reflects the Majestic's architectural period.
