Chisholm Trail Heritage Museum Ephemera

Party and Event Invitations for the Chisholm Trail Heritage Museum, 2006 - 2016

One of the surest ways to get a feel for the true brand of an organization is through ephemera - the temporal, quick-hit bursts of personality that come through party and event invitations. Here is a selection of ten years' work with The Chisholm Trail Heritage Museum in Cuero, Texas - a group who darn-tootin' knows how to throw a party!
Talking horses, why not? Casual lawn party for members of the Chisholm Trail Heritage Museum, at the ranch home of the board chairman. Save the Date postcard, 2011.
Cover of Member's Party 4-page invitation. Fall 2011.

The nostalgic charm of vintage postcards, black and white movie stills, and line cuts suit the Museum's style for the Taste of the Trail fundraiser invitations. Always a well-attended gala, the Taste of the Trail has become the organization's signature event.
Cover of the Museum's grand opening invitation, Fall 2013. The invitation, featuring a line cut by an Austin artist based on the Museum's own mascot, Thornton. Thornton is on display, a spectacular taxidermy mount of a Longhorn, in the Museum's front window. This invitation and related grand-opening issue of the CTHM's Round Up newsletter won the Texas Association of Museum's Mitchell A. Wilder Best of Show award for print graphic design for Texas museums in 2014.
Save the Date card for the upcoming Taste of the Trail 2016, with a Spanish Vaquero theme. Refreshed logo for this signature event keeps it Old-West but contemporary, too.
